University of Kansas, Lawrence, June 17-28, 2019

Travel

If you are driving, Lawrence is just off I-70, about 30 miles east of Topeka and about 50 miles west of Kansas City, MO.

If you are flying, the airport is Kansas City International (MCI). From there you can rent a car or take a shuttle. We are about an hour away from the airport.  The workshop organizers will make airport shuttle reservatons for the participants.  The shuttle will be directly billed to the workshop.

Parking is free at Downs Hall.  Do not park in the spaces next to the building marked "Red Permit Required". You should not need to park on the main campus, which requires a permit or cash at the open lots, parking garages and meters, except for Saturdays and Sundays.  KU and Lawrence have a bus service.  KU on Wheels runs through campus and you do not need to pay to ride on campus.  It is at least a ten-minute walk from your housing to the Engineering building.  You can get on the bus at Downs Hall and get off at the School of Engineering (Eaton/Learned Hall).  It will cost to ride the bus to locations off of campus (http://lawrencetransit.org/routes).  The bus does not run on Sundays.
