Social Events

A BBQ picnic will be held Sunday, June 16, at the shelter at Holcom Park, beginning at 6:00 pm.  We will car pool to the picnic site (Lawrence Avenue, north of 27thStreet).  For those arriving between 6:00 – 7:00 pm, call Jeremy Martin and he will pick you up and take you to the picnic site.

There are many entertainment and dining options in downtown Lawrence, geocaching, frisbee golf, bike rentals, running trails, public library, public swimming pool, museums, boating, and fishing, etc. in Lawrence and surrounding areas. There is easy access to cultural sites in Kansas City including the Historic Kansas City Jazz district, the Crossroads entertainment area, the Plaza Shopping area, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum, the Kemper Contemporary Art Museum, major league soccer, and major and minor league baseball.
